WeAreTheCity, a website for professional women, has launched the Rising Star Awards with the objective of promoting the achievements of 500 women from a multitude of industries in the UK and India by 2018.

Launched in 2015, the awards recognise the achievements of women who represent the next generation of future leaders. They will also recognise champions of gender equality and companies that support their female talent above and beyond the industry norm.

During 2018, WeAretheCity will be recognising the achievements of 100 women and five champions across the UK.

By highlighting achievements of female talent, they seek to encourage other companies and leaders to invest in and recognise these women as the leaders of the future.

There are three categories for nominations: Rising Star, Rising Star Champion, and Company of the Year.

To nominate, a person must produce no more than 150 words reasoning on why the individual/company deserves to win a Rising Star Award as per the criteria: open to all women regardless of age, below senior management level, working within the industry of the category for which they are nominated and working in the UK.

Nominations close on 25 March, and the awards ceremony will take place on 16 July at News UK’s headquarters in London.
