The WEgate Training Academy is tailored made training programe for strengthening women entrepreneurship organizations’ capacities across Europe. During the two days’ live sessions, on 10th and 11th of June, participants will have an opportunity to learn more on creating policies, lobbying and advocacy strategies, access to finance, and providing business support services, by sharing good practice examples and provision of tools to support learning and networking with peer organizations.

Meet our trainers!

Amélie Leclercq

Module 1. Advocacy and representation: developing competences in advocating for WE at local and national level, and helping develop knowledge and capacity to design and implement targeted advocacy strategies for women entrepreneurship.

Amélie Leclercq is Board member of the European Women’s Lobby, Belgium. She has led an atypical career as court administrator in the French justice system and has now created her own company in Sofia with a focus on European affairs, justice, home affairs, gender equality and accessibility of the workplace to persons with handicaps through training and project management. Since 2014, she represents BPW Europe in the Board of administration of the European Women Lobby. She is a member of the EWL’s Feminist Economics workgroup. She also represents BPW Europe in the WEgate community council.



Marta Turk

Module 2. Public policy: understanding the policymaking process, how can women entrepreneurship organization contribute on improving the ecosystem, the policy, institutional and legal framework for women entrepreneurship across Europe by undertaking targeted activities at the most appropriate level.


Marta Turk perfected her business and economic knowledge and experience in entrepreneurship at the International Center ILO Turin in the field of International Marketing for Small Businesses and later Family and Women's Entrepreneurship. She is also an established entrepreneur who devotes a large part of her time to the issue of the low share of Slovenian women in entrepreneurship a mentor, an ambassador and organizer of the event 500 Women Entrepreneurs, which is also the largest meeting of women entrepreneurs in Slovenia. She also founded the Institute for the Development of Women's and Family Entrepreneurship META, which helps women to start and develop their business and is president of the board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Regional Chamber Ljubljana.


Jenny Tooth

Module 3. Access to finance - part 1: How to run a successful access to finance programme for women for Access to Finance (Debt & Equity) Programme Aimed at Women Founders

Jenny Tooth is the CEO of the UK Business Angels Association which has superseded the British Business Angels Association, the trade body for angel and early stage investing. Jenny has been providing strategic support to BBAA since its establishment in 2004, supporting both policy and interfacing with Government, as well as developing the trade body’s major annual events. She has operated a wide range of investment readiness programmes, including projects supported by national and EU funding. She has also participated in a number of expert groups on access to finance and chaired the EC Knowledge Intensive Services group under DG Enterprise. She has also been a frequent judge at business plan competitions and acted as an assessor for the Technology Strategy Board for innovation grant applications.



Claire Munck

Module 3. Access to finance – part 2: Successfully connecting investment readiness programmes with the financing environment

Claire Munck has just been selected as "one of the top personalities to follow in Belgium in 2021" by the Financial Newspaper l'Echo. Claire is CEO of BeAngels, one of the most active business angel networks in Europe. Since its creation, the network has brought together more than 50 million euros of private capital to support more than 300 companies. She took over the management of the organization in 2013, after starting her career in Brussels as a lobbyist at EURADA, the European Association of Regional Development Agencies, dealing with European projects related to the financing of innovation and the exchange of good practices in stimulating entrepreneurial ecosystems. 


Marta-Patricia Aparicio y Montesinos

Module 4. Business development services: improve their business support skills and equip them with practical knowledge that they can use in their support programmes and services for business development of the women entrepreneurs.

Marta-Patricia Aparicio y Montesinos has been the Founder and Managing Director of Keymon Ventures since 2017, from where she invests in startups and scale-ups around the world. She is also co-founder and Chairwomen of the Keymon Angels, Business Angel Network in Zagreb. She holds an International Master’s degree from the IESE Business School and is a CFA Level II Candidate. She has over 13 years of early-stage equity experience as a Portfolio Supervisor, Investment Officer, LP, analyst, advisor, evaluator and mentor (220 entrepreneurs mentored and +3,000 start-up projects analyzed). From 2009 to 2011 she was General Manager of IESE’s Business Angels Network and the Spanish Business Angels Networks Association (2009-10).
