The European Commission is calling for nominees for the 2017 edition of the EU Prize for Women Innovators, which showcases the talents of four women entrepreneurs whose innovations have been successfully commercialised.
The Prize is open to all women residing in EU countries, or countries associated with Horizon 2020, across all sectors. Candidates must have founded a successful company (turnover of at least EUR 100 000), brought innovations to market, and benefited from public-private research and innovation funding.
Young innovators at the start of their careers (born after 1982) are eligible under the new ‘Rising Innovator’ category.
First prize: EUR 100 000
Second prize: EUR 50 000
Third prize: EUR 30 000
Rising Innovator: EUR 20 000
An independent high-level jury from business and academia will select the winners who will be announced in March 2017.
