We are happy to announce the 2nd WEgate training Academy, part of the educational series of WEgate. Taking place on the 12th and 13th of October, 2021, this event aims at creating next-generation women, ready to accelerate their entrepreneurial growth through financial education, green and digital transformation. With a variety of topics and internationally recognized trainers, women-supporting organizations and women entrepreneurs will be equipped with real-life tools and information on how they can boost women entrepreneurship across Europe, through expanding their online presence and promotion, increasing their financial literacy, insights in access to equity and public funds, with a possibility of digital and green transformation.
The WEgate Training Academy is an interactive event, where participants will have the opportunity not only to learn but to network and expand their pool of collaborators, gain insight into the selection of tools so that they can transform their business.

Ratka Jurkovic – Moderator
Works as lecturer/guest lecturer at Croatian and international universities and business schools, where she teaches various topics within the fields of entrepreneurship, business ethics, economics, leadership, management and multicultural communications. In 2011 she has been appointed as the ambassador of female entrepreneurship within the European network of female entrepreneurship ambassadors scheme.
Anamaria Magri Pantea
Module: Funding opportunities
Founder and Managing Consultant of Ascend Consulting, with specialization in finance and holder of a Master in Business Administration, she has 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship, innovation and business development support, as well as access to impact finance through grants, credit and equity investments.
Thomas Cooney
Module: The importance of financial literacy
Tom is Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Technological University Dublin, Director of the Institute for Minority Entrepreneurship and Adjunct Professor at the University of Turku (Finland). He is a former President of the International Council for Small Business (2012-13) and of the European Council for Small Business (2009-11) and was Chair of the ICSB 2014 World Entrepreneurship Conference. He is a policy advisor to Governments, European Commission, OECD and other international organisations.

Claire Munck
Module: Why digital tools for access to finance are crucial to master for women entrepreneurs
Ms Munck has just been selected as "one of the top personalities to follow in Belgium in 2021" by the Financial Newspaper l'Echo. Claire is CEO of BeAngels, one of the most active business angel networks in Europe. Since its creation, the network has brought together more than 50 million euros of private capital to support more than 300 companies. She took over the management of the organization in 2013, after starting her career in Brussels as a lobbyist at EURADA, the European Association of Regional Development Agencies, dealing with European projects related to the financing of innovation and the exchange of good practices in stimulating entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Jenny Tooth
Module: The A-Z of fundraising
CEO of the UK Business Angels Association which has superseded the British Business Angels Association, the trade body for angel and early-stage investing. Jenny has been providing strategic support to BBAA since its establishment in 2004, supporting both policy and interfacing with Government, as well as developing the trade body’s major annual events. She has operated a wide range of investment readiness programmes, including projects supported by national and EU funding. She has also participated in a number of expert groups on access to finance and chaired the EC Knowledge Intensive Services group under DG Enterprise. She has also been a frequent judge at business plan competitions and acted as an assessor for the Technology Strategy Board for innovation grant applications.
