Crowdfunding

Crowdfunding is an emerging source of finance involving open calls to the public or ‘crowd’ generally issued via the internet. Projects are financed through donations, monetary contributions in exchange for a reward, product pre-ordering, lending, or investment. Fundraisers are usually charged a fee by crowdfunding platforms if the fundraising campaign has been successful. In return, crowdfunding platforms are expected to provide a secure and easy to use service.
